Former home of Dracula author, Bram Stoker @ 30 Kildare Street, Dublin.

Bram spent most of his adult life here. He was born in Clontarf and was not expected to survive his early childhood. He was unable to stand or walk and was bedridden until the age of 7 when he made a complete recovery. During this time, his mother would tell him stories to keep him entertained which sparked his imagination. Stoker later wrote "the leisure of long illness gave opportunity for many thoughts which were fruitful in later years."

Dracula was released in 1897. The story is about Count Dracula, a vampire from Transylvania who using supernatural powers goes to England to find blood to sustain his immortal life and spread the undead curse. The first edition as attached is recognisable by its yellow cloth binding and red title lettering. The book has become one of the most iconic and enduring horror creations of all time.
